High Dynamic Range Video (HDRv)

High dynamic range video (HDRv) is a key component in next generation digital imaging (What is HDR?). By capturing the full dynamic range in a scene HDRv enables a wide range of new imaging applications.
At the LiU HDRv repository we give an overview of how HDRv works and display a set of applications that are enabled by the use of video sequences that capture the full dynamics of the lighting in the scene. We also make available a large number of uncompressed HDR-video sequences that may be used for research or educational purposes.

About us

The Computer Graphics and Image Processing group and the Visual Computing Laboratory at the Department of Science and Technology and Linköping University, Sweden, has been working with HDR-video and its applications in computer graphics and image processing since 2003. The group has a wide range of research interests including: theory and methodology for image capture, image analysis and image synthesis. With a strong foundation in theoretically oriented research, the group is also active within a number of demonstrator projects and industrial and academic collaborations directed towards development of state-of-the-art applications within the focus areas.

The work presented here is a summray of results from several projects and is funded by:

The Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research (SSF) through: the Strategic Research Center MOVIII
The Swedish Knowledge Foundation (KKS)
The Swedish Research Council (VR) through the Linnaeus Center CADICS
The Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research (SSF) through grant IIS11-0080
Linköping Unversity Center for Industrial Information Technology (CENIIT) through grant 11.01
